On Sunday November 18th, 2007, I was blessed to have
been voted in as the new pastor of Highland Baptist Church. I
consider this to be an honor and a privilege that the Lord has
given me to be able to serve him in this capacity. I was saved
by God’s marvelous grace at Linden Ave. Baptist Church when I
was just a small boy, and on January 19th, 1975, I
accepted God’s call to preach the Gospel. I preached my first
sermon on Sunday morning, January 26th, 1975, and
since that time I have done my best to be faithful to my
calling. My wife Carol, whom God has so richly blessed me with,
has been my best friend and companion for the past forty-years,
and we have traveled many miles together in our effort to win
souls for Jesus.
I am grateful
to the congregation of Highland Baptist Church because I believe
that they have prayed and sought the Lord about this, just as
Sister Carol and I have done, and I believe that they have
followed the leadership of the Holy Spirit concerning this
important decision. I am looking forward to seeing our church
grow, and I pray that in the years ahead, as we continue to work
in one mind and one accord, that we can see many souls saved.
